  2. Bottom up or Collective Intelligence. Harness the full power of the

    buy-in if previous strategies haven't.

Top Down or Expert Intelligence
The TetraLD strategy development programme has the following stages:

Holacracy: 

A recent, very effective method for matrix organisations.  It combines requisite organisational structures and project management methods, and is rooted in agile software project management.

Holacracy works with the collective wisdom of people in specific divisions, project teams and programmes, while aligning the organization with its broader purpose and a more organic way of operating.  Holacracy takes emerging principles, ideas, mindsets and instills them in the structures and processes of the organization.  Grounded in practice they are brought to life and the result is increased agility, transparency, innovation and accountability.

Participatory Leadership:

Much of todays world is complex, in the sense of the Cynefin diagram below.  Complexity in this sense means you never have all the information, resources and capability needed to predict, or control what happens.  The new generation of leaders in this complex world succeeds by leveraging all the wisdom and capability of his/her peers and teams inside and outside the organisation.  And by remaining always ready to adjust plans to match rapidly changing demands and resource availability.  Shifting to connect and develop, from research and develop is required to succeed.  (This has been a very successful shift in the corporate strategy of a number of multinationals in the past 10 years).
